Banking supports client business activities throughout the region with an extensive range of capital markets and lending capabilities and an integrated team of coverage, advisory and product bankers responsible for client relationship management and strategic transaction development to execute banking and securities mandates and originate idea generation for potential acquisitions, divestitures and investment opportunities. Job Overview: Mizuho is hiring for a Director position on its New York-based Securitization team that will mainly focus on esoteric asset-backed securitizations. The team is responsible for the origination, execution, and management of Mizuho’s bank-funded securitizations. The team works in partnership with Mizuho’s industry / relationship coverage teams, in addition to Mizuho’s broader Securitized Products business.Responsibilities:Responsible for originating, syndicating and executing warehouse securitization transactions for esoteric assetsGenerate pitch ideas, prepare pitch books, and join senior staff in meetings with existing and prospective customersNegotiate term sheets and transaction documentation with new and existing customersPrepare credit and ratings applications and negotiate internal approvalsProcess amendments, waivers, credit and ratings renewals, and review reports of new and existing transactionsDevelop models and perform credit and collateral analysis on different types of esoteric assets, including aircraft, container, digital infrastructure, whole business and IP/RoyaltiesPerform market research and due diligence on existing and prospective customers and collateral poolsQualifications:Bachelor's degree required, Master’s degree preferredAt least 7 years of relevant work experienceExperience with term ABS and/or bank/conduit securitization structuresIn-depth understanding of the securitization market, multiple asset classes and types of structuresAbility to work independently and in a team environmentAdvanced transaction modeling skillsAnalytical and detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skillsAbility to multitask in a fast-paced environment with varying priorities to meet internal and external deadlinesSelf-motivated and proactiveStrong written and verbal communication skillsProficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Experience dealing with rating agencies, due diligence, risk weight and other regulatory reporting, and credit/underwriting processesSeries 79 & 63 The expected base salary ranges from $300K - $325K. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered.
